Abstract
In accordance with Directive No. 1-2016 issued on 13 July 2016 by the General Insurance Committee, insurance companies must deploy a new verification function in their risk management and internal control system to ensure compliance with legal provisions governing the insurance sector. Therefore, the aim of Compliance Officer is to prevent insurance company from suffering consequences of loss of reputation or credibility likely to cause serious financial damage, due to non-compliance with regulatory provisions or ethics of the profession of insurer. In fact, he is responsible for assessing the adequacy of measures adopted by the insurance company to prevent non-compliance and ensuring consistency between several reports dealing with governance and compliance issues communicated to stakeholders.
